3.3 Tactical Systems
Sixteen Type-XII phaser arrays in near-spherical coverage and six torpedo launchers firing a heavy forward quantum spread.
The Vanguard carries the heaviest beam armament of the three designs: sixteen Type-XII phaser arrays arranged for genuinely near-spherical coverage, so the ship has no blind arc and can engage multiple targets at once. The arrays fire as continuous strips, concentrating fire for maximum effect against a single hard target.
Projectile weapons
Six torpedo launchers — four forward, two aft — fire both photon and quantum torpedoes. The forward launchers are grouped into a heavy bank capable of a saturating spread, fed from a deep magazine sized for extended engagements far from resupply.
Fire control
A dedicated fire-control and tactical-sensor suite tracks and prioritises threats across the full sphere, coordinating phaser and torpedo fire and feeding the battle bridge a real-time engagement picture.
