2.0 Class Overview & Mission Profile
The Pathfinder class — a fast, lean survey cruiser that slips ahead of the fleet to chart what's there and get the data home.
Where the Meridian scales the lineage up, the Pathfinder sharpens it to a point. It is the direct successor to the Intrepid class — small, fast, bio-neural — built for the mission a flagship cannot do: leave the task group behind, run alone and unsupported deep into unsurveyed space, chart it, and return the data. Everything that does not serve speed, sensors, or self-sufficiency has been left off.

Mission profile
The Pathfinder is built to operate for months beyond any starbase, ahead of the survey line. Its small, heavily-automated crew, deep consumables, and ability to set down on a planet for repair or concealment make it the fleet's true scout — the ship that finds what the larger explorers are later sent to study.
