2.1 Spaceframe & Landing Systems
A compact, continuous spaceframe optimised for sustained high warp, with full atmospheric flight and planetary landing capability.
The Pathfinder is a single continuous spaceframe — no saucer separation — which keeps it light, stiff, and structurally efficient at the high warp factors it lives at. The arrowhead primary hull blends smoothly into an integrated engineering section, presenting a clean aerodynamic profile for atmospheric work.
Structure
The frame uses the same trititanium-laced truss and structural-integrity-field reinforcement as its larger siblings, but tuned for sustained high-warp stress rather than combat loads. Hull contours are smoothed for atmospheric flight, and the leading surfaces carry reinforced thermal layers.
Planetary landing
The Pathfinder's defining trick is inherited directly from the Intrepid line: it can enter an atmosphere, fly aerodynamically, and set down on three deployable landing struts. This lets it land for surface science, conduct repairs without a starbase, ride out an ion storm, or simply run silent on a planet's surface — capabilities a non-landing starship cannot match.
