1.6 Crew Support & Habitability
A flagship built for long-duration deep-space service — families embarked, holographic recreation, and resilient environmental and medical systems.
A vessel intended for multi-year missions beyond easy resupply must be a place to live, not just to work. The Meridian carries a standard complement of about 720 plus mission specialists, with accommodation for families and a surge capacity of 2,500 for evacuation or humanitarian operations.
Recreation & environment
Holographic environment simulators (holodecks) and smaller holosuites provide training, recreation and research environments; arboreta, dining and social spaces are distributed through the saucer. Environmental systems recycle atmosphere and water in closed loops, with replication handling the bulk of provisioning and waste reclamation.
Medical
A full sickbay and surgical complex is backed by an Emergency Medical Hologram and the surge capacity to function as a fleet hospital when a humanitarian module is fitted to the mission spine.
