1.7 Auxiliary Craft & Embarked Vehicles

A captain's yacht, runabouts, and a mixed shuttle complement supporting independent operations far from a starbase.

The Meridian carries a substantial embarked-craft complement to extend its reach. A ventral captain's yacht docks under the saucer for diplomatic and special missions; two warp-capable runabouts provide independent long-range transport and survey; and a main shuttlebay aft of the saucer operates a mixed complement of Flyer-class and standard personnel and cargo shuttles.

Flight operations

Flight operations are run from a dedicated control centre with automated traffic handling, allowing simultaneous launch and recovery cycles. The main bay doubles as a pressurised work volume for in-space construction and repair, and as additional evacuation throughput during humanitarian operations.
