3.5 Command, Computer & Electronic Warfare
A battle bridge, dual hardened computer cores, and an electronic-warfare suite for command of a patrol or task group.
The Vanguard is built to command as well as fight. Alongside the main bridge it carries a dedicated battle bridge in the battle section, and two hardened, physically isolated computer cores — a bio-neural primary and an isolinear secondary — so that the loss of one cannot blind the ship.
Electronic warfare
A tactical electronic-warfare suite provides sensor jamming and counter-measures, signals intelligence, and the ability to coordinate a patrol or small task group as a flagship-of-the-line. The combat information centre fuses the ship's tactical sensors with task-group data into a single picture.
