Rigel Star System

Rigel (Beta Orionis) is a massive blue-white star that supports an extensive planetary system, including five Class M planets: II, IV, V, VII, and VIII. Planet VII has an oversize moon and is properly a dual-planet system; VIII, also known as Orion, is the home of the Orion colonies. Several worlds also orbit Rigel's binary companion, and are colonies of Rigel VIII. Inhabitants of the system must contend with a radiation belt and an intense magnetic field extending outward about 80 AU from the star.
