Major Systems
Warp Core (M/ARA)
The matter/antimatter reaction assembly that fuses deuterium plasma with antimatter, tuned by a dilithium chamber, to generate the subspace field driving Voyager faster than light.
Impulse Drive
Deuterium-fueled fusion reactors provide sublight propulsion up to about one-quarter the speed of light for in-system and orbital travel.
Main Bridge
Voyager's command center, with Conn, Ops, Tactical, and Engineering stations from which Captain Janeway coordinates all ship operations.
Transporter
Converts matter to energy and back to move up to six people at quantum-level resolution within a 40,000-kilometer range when shields are down.
Sickbay & EMH
A fully equipped medical facility staffed by the Emergency Medical Hologram, who can operate anywhere holo-emitters are installed.
Holodeck
A holographic environment simulator that blends photonic imagery with transporter-based matter conversion to recreate almost any environment with physical substance.
Library Computer (LCARS)
Voyager's optical-processing LCARS core, augmented with isolinear chips and bio-neural gel-packs and linked shipwide by the Optical Data Network.
Defensive Shields
Energy force fields that protect Voyager from attack and natural hazards, distinct from the navigational deflector and auto-activated by the computer in a crisis.
Main Navigational Deflector
The forward deflector dish that sweeps debris from Voyager's path at warp and can be channeled warp power to act as a high-energy weapon.
Ship's Phasers
The ship's primary offensive weapon: phaser banks wrapping both hull sections with an effective range of about 300,000 kilometers.
Photon Torpedoes
Warp-capable matter/antimatter weapons with variable yield, the weapon of choice at warp speed, fired from a finite and replenishable supply of casings.
Tractor Beam
A focused beam of polarized gravitons acting as a linear force field to pull or tow objects toward the ship.
Sensor Arrays
Lateral, forward, aft, upper, and lower sensor arrays plus a long-range array at the front of the Engineering Hull that sweeps ahead for hazards.
Shuttlebay & Auxiliary Craft
Houses Voyager's standard shuttles, shuttlepods, EVA workpods, and the atmosphere-capable AeroWing for short-range flight when transport is inappropriate.
